Hi,
I usualy sync my iphone 3g with iTunes using a PC (Windows Vista)
the question is, I am switching to mac, and I have no clue how to switch the data (Contacts, SMS, pictures, Applications, and Music) from my PC to mac..
any idea how that could be done?
P.S I will no longer be using my PC, so I really need to move the data.

Bring your PC with you to an Apple Store, they will move it for you.

With regards contacts I have them backed up with Yahoo & MobileMe, That way I just sync to my mobileMe account and pull all my contacts calendars etc from the net.
well i do have mobileme, but I have no clue how to use it lol.
I thought i have to be on mac first...
well if you can tell me how to transfer everything online to mobileme. that would be great

Before you start you should sync your phone book with outlook, You can find the settings to do this in the info tab when the phones is connected to itunes.
