it seems that uve found the end of the world and we gonna die all in hell.
its just a download-caching error. open maps, press home button for a few seconds till the maps app close. reboot the device.
The iPhone's GPS performance can be affected by many conditions, such as a high percentage of cloud cover, an incomplete line of sight to the sky, or, in your case, driving into the fucking twilight zone, which voids your warranty.
