Bought 3g on eBay. Experimenting with it (still not active with my T-Mobile) and stupid me pressed erase all contents and settings.
Now (natch) there is no system, only an iTunes icon. What can I do? Do I have an expensive paperweight here?
I have been searching for solutions but figured you're the best resource.

Using erase all content on an iPhone is only recommended if you want to sell it and make sure to not leave any data on it.Quote:

I'm at work right now and do not have it with me. I cannot do anything on it but make an "emergency call" if that. I thought it was both jailbroken and updated at purchase.
There seems to be virtually nothing on it, similar to a wiped HD.
Can I go to a website and download all the programs and install them, and/or is there a mirror site?

Basically IF it is still at baseband 02.28 that matches firmware 2.2 a restore to firmware 2.2 (NOT 2.2.1) will do. If it is at 2.2.1's baseband you got a problem - no unlock available.Quote:

I haven`t either. MMS enabled is a feature of the upcoming Firmware 3.0 in Summer, Video recording is - as far as I know - not even a feature of 3.0.Quote:

The problem we have cause you are stuck right now and cant tell which firmware it really is, that taking action could lead to a brick.

You could try to DFU restore to Firmware 2.2 (NOT 2.2.1 YOU'LL BE STUCK IF YOU DO). If This works you could try Quickpwn 2.2.5 to jailbreak, activate unlock and optional retsore to a custom made firmware 2.2.1.Quote:
