[Advice] Will AT&T take back my iPhone if i want to buy the new one ?

Will AT&T take a 6month old iphone in for a trade in for a new 3g iphone for discount? or am I gonna be stuck with 2 iphones?

probably not. they have no reason to. its not within 30 days so you cant return it. I would say u should try to sell it now while most people are unaware of the new iphone(if there are any of those people left).

cxould try and brick for a warrenty, then se if they will let you upgrade.....

This is unlikely to happen, i'm pretty sure they have enough refurbished iPhones to not being forced to give you a 2nd Gen one. :)

Just imagine a second if they replace defective 1st Gen phones by 2nd Gen.
Everybody who have signed a plan will ask here how to kill their phones to get them replaced (you know what software i'm thinking about). :rolleyes: :D

Has any company ever done this? I have never heard of it. Maybe they will take your old phone and dispose of it in an appropriate manner. Maybe they will give you a $10 discount. Come on, people, these are for-profit businesses; they're not charitable organizations. Possible AT&T could accept a trade-in option if a 3G data plan will cost more. I can't see any other reason why these companies would do something like that.

There may be an iPhone swap program, at least in some markets, after all!! Read here: http://www.appleinsider.com/articles...xt_iphone.html . I would swap my 8GB for a 3G 16GB + $100!! :D I also have a refurbed 16GB that I would keep for non AppStore apps until firmware 2.0 on the 3G phone can be jailbroken and unlocked.

yes a swap would be nice but the question is can it be hacked? I mean we are talking about going from a comfotable setup up to the virtual unknown, would you drop all your apps and stuff for a plain 3g iPhone that can't be hacked.....
