thats how its gonna stay until someone decides to fix it, I did the same thing and everyone who did have to suffer the consequences as far as I know this is a hardware problem I'm not sure whether or not its possible to get wifi to start working again but I hope its possible, but then again anything is possible someone just needs to work on it.

What baseband? As I keep on saying in other threads about wifi - a syslog of the iPhone startup helps a lot with diagnosis.

That you can see mac address rules out some causes.

Hello, I have same problem at 3G BB 06.15.00 and iOS 4.1/4.2.1. I've turn on verbose boot and see wifi mac address at syslog when device starts.

Can you publish on pastebin.com a copy of your syslog?

I don't see any known hardware problem in that syslog.

    Have you got OpenSSH installed?
