I have a 3 g iphone 16g. its pretty much buggered, everything is wrecked as it was in a car accident.. i pulled apart the screen thinking it was only this to replace. Unfortunately the metal peice that went through the screen is also damaged the mb and part of the battery so the ph doesnt turn on at all..

instead of buying another iphone can you just replace the hardware? I have been looking on ebay and finding cheap parts like mbs screens and batterys going pretty cheap.. cheaper than a new phone...

all im worried about is if the mb doesnt pick up signal in australia?? if i buy one from america or japan etc. will it work in australian bandwidth?

would i just need to jailbreak the ph for it to work maybe??
