i keep geting a 169 address with the wifi and it is saying m conected to a network???

If you mean you try to connect to a wifi network but it gives you that type of address and its not working, then I would guess that maybe you typed in the wrong password for the network or you have to go to the router and allow access from the MAC address of your iPhone.

could be that. Could be also a network that doesn't have a DHCP server. That mean you have to manualy configure the ip adress. the problem with that is you have to acess a computer already setted up, type cmd in the run menu, then ipconfig and then you take the same ip adress and you change the last digit to something between 3 and 254. don't take 1,2,255, they are usualy already in use for a server
