Okay I've searched and searched for the answer to this so if you know or fint it dont be a smart ass. please just tell me how to fix it.

I have a 3G 8Gb with 2.2 fw. jailbrokren and unlocked with baseband 2.28. I've been using this phone for around 7 months now. It was with ATT but I unlocked with yellowsn0w and it's worked perfectly. dont know WTF happened but when I go to sync some stuff with itunes it gives me a message saying:

"The sim card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported. Only compatible sSIM cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone."

WTF MATE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

used it before without a problem. iTunes version is 7.7 and im using vista. PLEASE HELP

your title: iTunes says unlocked iPhone is not activated

1. Your phone is locked by AT&T
2. You must jailbreak it and keep BB 2.28 then unlock it with yellowsn0w.
3. Update iTunes to 8.1 then sync normally.

Do it again or tell us more details if you still not success.

Tried rejailbreaking and reapplying yellowsnow. neither worked. I first tried to sync with itunes 8.1 but got the error message. uninstalled iTunes and went back to 7.7 to see if it was too dumb to notice but no dice. I've tried syncing it with airplane mode both on and off. I've tried it with the SIM removed as well, no dice. The only thing I haven't tried is syncing it with an at&t SIM simply because I dont have one. In reply to the other post, the phone is unlocked with baseband 2.28. I use it with my tmobile SIM card every day. If anyone has any other suggestion/ideas, let me know.

seems you have bypassed the activation ... once your iphone is activated this msg should not appear ... i suggest you restore with a custom firmware thats already activated .. you can search the net for it .. ofcourse the baseband must be preserved and then try jailbreak and unlock again !! .. hope this might help
