Itunes not detecting Iphone 3G, SIM card not supported, plz hlp. thx
Hello,
I have 16gb I-phone 3G unlocked using ultrasn0w, I am using OS 3.0, Running Itunes version 8.2.0.23 on Vista Ultimate. I am in the USA and have T-mobile. My I-phone works perfectly fine without any problems. I have been able to sync my I-phone in Itunes recently since I upgraded to 3.0.
Now every time I connect my I-phone to I-tunes it says
"" The SIM card in this I-phone does not appear to be supported ""
I have tried restarting my computer, Iphone, I have taken the SIM card in and out, and still no luck. I have even connected my Iphone to other computers and still get the same error.
Does anybody know how to fix this?????
There is an update for Itunes 8.2.1, should I upgrade it?
Thank you for any help.

I figured it out. For anybody else that has this problem or runs into it in the future and searches the forums, this is how I fixed the problem. My phone worked fine, with calls, cydia, apps, everything worked except, itunes would not let me connect. I updated itunes from 8.2.0.23 to 8.2.1.6. This did not fix the problem. It was one of the changes I did. I tried several different T-mobile sim cards in my phone, and still had the same error.

I was going to rerun redsn0w,reformat the phone, and start over, but before I did that I wanted to try one last time to backup my iphone through itunes. I had a coworker that had an iphone with at&t. I put his sim card in my iphone and connected it. It brought up my phone on itunes. I synced and backed up my phone without any problems. I then disconnected my iphone and put my sim card back in the phone. Before I was going to start over with my iphone. I plugged it in and itunes recognized my iphone. problem fixed.
I believe that Apple at some time or another sent some kind of block or something through itunes at sometime. I tried different sim cards and my iphone on different computers, but the only thing that fixed it was to put an at&t sim card in my iphone. I dont know if it had anything to do with my friend having an iphone. I think it had to do with the at&t sim card unlocking the block.

One last note, I tried connecting without a sim card in the iphone and also tried in airplane mode, but came up with the same result. -

You can do unlock or jailbreak using Tmobile sim. I don't know odes apple block such kind you said. But as problem solved it's good for you. Are you using ATT still or any other provider?
