Exclamation iPhone Unlock - where is everyone?

    Hi Guys,
It has been a long time since we heard from dev team. Does anyone know how things are working out with them? They posted a video and article on their site a few weeks ago but since nothing more serious [oh other than the masks which was nice fun the day it came]. Can someone please update us? I dont mean to say or discourage you guys, but a small status message keeps the momentum at this side of the stick.

As it is george has gone completely cold, though i am not surprised as he is now working with google on android and Google wouldnt want him on iPhone - which is appreciated!

hahah nice topic, but real reason is that the code required to unlock ANY phone requires time to develop... the original iPhone (2G) software unlock was established what, 15 months after the iPhone was released? and the iPhone 3G will time to crack........

let's just be patient guys, the software unlock will be ready when it is safe. why rush it? so we can end up with problems like that of ZiPhone (THIEF, SELL-OUT to say the least...)

    good luck to the team

um actually, the original iphone took about 3 months to crack (late june-->mid-september).

i am too, waiting for the 3G unlock. i'm considering buying one of those *SIMs if there's no unlock by christmas time.

I could use one of thems but dont really want to cut my sim or anything on those lines.

I agree, last unlock took only 3 months, where as this one is harder to crack. I am not saying rush to conclusions but a friendly progress would be excellent:hack:

I am referring to the software unlock... and my apologies, it took more like 7 months for a software unlock, came out June 2007 (not 2006 like I thought for some reason...) and the software unlock came out January 2008,

Hmmm.... I got my first iphone in October 2007 and then unlocked it with the first anysim which was a software unlock. Doesn't quite add up to 7 months does it.

Ps And I waited a month after the first software unlock so what tubaman93 said is right on the mark

Software unlock for BL3.9 iPhone Classics came out around Sept 2007. BL 3.9 iPhones were release June 2007 (so around 3 months for software unlock)

Software unlock for BL4.6 iPhone Classics, which i think is what you are referring to, came out Feb 2008. BL 4.6 iPhones were released Nov 2007 (so another 3 months for software unlock).

The 3G thou, is a different banana altogether, with its Infineon Chip and what nots.

Still hoping for a 3G unlock Christmas gift from the dev team though...
