    Question Iphone partition fat32

Is it possible to have multiple partitons on an iphone?

Ideally I would like to half the size of the DFC partition (Internal stroeage used for camera pictures) and then partition and use the other half as fat32 so I can use it as an external drive on a mac and pc without other software.

    Please help

I'm pretty sure you can't change formats on flash memory. They come made to work with one thing. Hard Drives and Flash memory are pretty different in that aspect.

How come you are so sure about this?

If you can get a mkdosfs for mobile darwin of course this will work. My Zaurus SL C3000 was running a flash memory in an IDE simulation and I could format it with any filesystem I had the mkefs executable for and that my kernel supported.

The iPhone seems to run on HFS+, while in the linux world jffs2 for the nand and ext2/3 are very common for PDAs.

I guess the bigger problem is getting the iPhone into the correct USB mode. I would rather look at installing a tool like datacase, etc and run an afpd/ftp/webdav server which can you can use via WiFi to copy stuff onto the iPhone.

    Just my 2 cents,
    J

    Question Flash drive

Is the flash drive in an iphone note similar to that in a usb pen drive?

I can create multiple partitions on my pen drives. fat32, fat, ntfs. Why can this not be done on an iphone?
