Hello all,

So I am here out of desperation. I received an iPhone 3g 8Gb model from a relative when they upgraded and had it jailbroken and running fine for several months. Recently went to restore it back to the default iOS software using itunes under Windows Vista and was only able to get partway through, there was an error at the very end, can't recall what it was unfortunately.
Since then, all I can see on the iPhone is the initial connect to itunes graphic but the phone is never recognized(shows up as unknown device even after ensuring the apple drivers are used for that device) after trying everything possible to ensure the correct drivers are installed and even trying several computers that recognize other iPhones. To complicate things even more the power button functionality is intermittent at best.
Seeing as I can't even get new software installed on the phone, I come to you seeking any advice on accessing this device through other means such as hardware hacking as I have access to university electronics equipment and am a electrical engineering major or perhaps some trouble shooting I could do. I would rather not spend any money sending it into Apple to fix this issue and appreciate any sort of advice you can offer. If you need more info please say so.

Hi all

I just saw this topic when searching online for the same exact problem as lxiscs

Don`t have any logs as the reset was made on phone (with no error report as lxiscs`s) and now it doesn`t get recognized in any computer (where others are with no problem).

Also even without showing the spark as it`s charging it is in fact charging

and so it won`t be any doubt i`ve changed the connector for a 100% tested one so it`s not a PC or connector problem

Any ideas?

Someone helped me on other forum and i manage to sort out the problem..

I`ll leave the solution that worked for me as i could be good for others too
