IF i were to buy an iphone 3g from an auction site, and the phone has not been activated, how would i activate the phone itself?

Also I've seen youtube videos of rebelsim and a yessim allowing tmobile sims to work on the phone, i.e no hacking software needed.

Can someone confirm this?

You can activate the phone using the pwnage tool, but you don't want to execute your plan.

-Rebel Sim and Yessim do not work like you think they do. They are a hoax, and you can't even accept incoming calls or sms's. You are going to have to wait until a legit sim piggyback comes out or pwnage unlock.

Actually, hacking software is what you want. These SIM cards changes the signal your phone emits, making it think you're on the correct network.
A software unlock is much more reliable to use.
