Hi - I've decided not to join the rat race and buy one of these this time round, after reading dissapointing reviews,+ Apple have not really done that much to improve the iphone over the first model ..

Question is - now you have one - is it worth the money ?, given we know the32gb will be out in about 3 months ?

well 32gb imo are way too much space for a mp3 player


i mean I have 3gb of song on my iphone 2g and its enough for me... If we could use is as external USB storage, that would be another thing...

I previously had an iPhone 4g and was satisfied, I dont have too much music. I'm just back from picking up a 8gb iPhone 3g. I was first in line and about 6 people were waiting, it was a small store.

The Rogers reps had trouble syncing my iPhone to their version of iTunes to activate it. I waited about 30 mins lol. They seemed very unprofesional and weren't really sure what they were doing. At one point I had to explain something to the rep lolol. At the end I told them, listen just give me the phone and I'll try to activate it later as the sim card is already activated.

The version of iTunes they are using is 7.6.3B and I'm sure its already on torrents. I almost got away with and unactivated iPhone 3g. Dont know if it means something to the hacking community but at last minute they managed to activate it oh well. The 3g speed are really good, one thing I noticed is that the quality in Youtube gets reduced for faster download, don't know if there is a way to change that.

My 2 cents.

Update: The speakers sounds like in a little fm stereo/radio you can carry around. Dont know how to explain it lol.

Also, I cant seem to install app from the App store. It tells me my account if only good for iTunes store in Canada. Where do I have to make an account?

Update 2: nvm fixed the app store, I just had to sync to iTunes for the first time lol.

Another thing, I cant seem to see the pic I just took. I restored my old iPhone settings to my new iPhone my old pics are there and even if I delete them they keep coming back. The new pics I take are blank wtf.

I just got one today. The plastic back cover looks a bit cheap to me but you can grip the phone better. Shiny buttons not to impressed with them.

Have not gotten any software for it yet that can take advantage of the GPS but i tell you the 3G is fast (for sure faster to a good degree).

the App store sucks in one way, you gota have a mac account to download even free apps (many of those on there). TO have a mac account you must have a credit card...

Anyone knows a way to get a mac account without the credit card ..I don't use them at all...

Because you hawe Dev Team Software updated Phone and then Make Backup in iTunes and then take New 3G iPhone and make this old Backup, it is little buggy...
you need to give now read and write permissions to image folder or whatewer it is

ewerybody has problems with Dev Team Software update...

What do u mean? Any time I try to install a free app I get the username pwd box for a .mac account! Am confused when you say 'school account'?

You dont need an account at mobile me or .Mac (before). You need an Account at the iTunes Store. To set it up (at least in the US), during the process an Apple-ID is created from your e-mail address. IF you already have a .mac account, this will be your Apple ID aswell. On the iTS, in the US you can setup an account with an iTunes Gift Certificate, will have an Apple ID then. Thats the one the store is asking for whenever you want to download a song, album, video or app - free or not.

i also havent bothered changing, the feature list doesnt make it worth it for me and it looks cheaper, which is good i suppose cause it means theres nothing even niggling at me to upgrade,

the cheap gps is [ie not updating] doesnt appeal
