Has anyone found the 2.0 software a little sluggish at times, the screen will stick etc
i'm wondering if its because my contacts, email and calendar are pushed over air from an exchange server or not, but a few times it seems a little slow to respond, even on texting i finished pressing the buttms for thr word before it appeared

my impression is very simple... the new firmware 2,0 is great! Exchange sync is a fantastic possibility. But the hardware of the 3g iphone isn't a revolution respect the 2g. The exit of the new iPhoen is great commercial movement from Apple for sell the iphone in new country like italy and china, but it's not a revolution by the tecnical side.

What people are forgetting is even sat nav systems like tomtom have only a gps unit, take the software away and what are you left with? pretty much the same as what gps ability the iphone has
the iphone has GPS, so it doesnt come pre bundeled with navigation sofware, thats not to say developers / companies wont make one. I hear tom tom already have a working sat nav software working on the iphone using gps
it's a very clever move from apple, they've put gps into the phone but not much use for it UNTIL a relative piece of software is released for it. And as Mr Jobs pointed out, apple get 30% of sales for bought software from app store so they still gain from it

Does your phone have build 5A347? It seems like most phones (maybe all) shipped with build 5A345 (beta 8), so there may be some bugs. iTunes will not tell you that there is a newer build (since it's not a new firmware version, I guess). That may be one of the problems. You will have to do a "Restore", and build 5A347 will be installed automatically from Apple's servers through iTunes. I will try it tonight to see if it is faster!! If you can do it before then, please let us know if it is indeed faster and if it removes the bugs! Cheers!
There should be a sticky somewhere for all people who purchased an iPhone to "Restore" it before you add all of your info! Actually, I will write one up!!

yeah - I tried tdoing a restore in iTunes and it pulled down the latest version, the sluggishness of the contacts scrolling and some lag on typing text's seems to have gone
I'm not dishing Apple but I am suprised their Q.A Dept missed the fact the released a beta on all their phones, unless it's part of their anti hacking thing or somethig ... who knows.
Thanks for the help though guys

IF you already have a .mac account, this will be your Apple ID aswell. On the iTS, in the US you can setup an account with an iTunes Gift Certificate, will have an Apple ID then. Thats the one the store is asking for whenever you want to download a song, album, video or app - free or not.
Hope that helps

Sure did. Thanks a lot. Got me an iTunes card from Best Buy (can also get one at future shop or walmart for those in north America) and simply had to "redeem" it within iTunes store. Thats when it gives you a chance to create an account with Credit Cart information only OPTIONAL.

EXACTLY. And btw people who are downloading the new software on the old iPhone don't have GPS nor 3G so its pretty useless. Appstore is a nice addition though.
