    Those numbers look like the firmware numbers, but there are some different digits. 5A345 was apparently a beta firmware that was shipped on alot of 3G iPhones and 5A347 is the final version that was released. The difference between the two are just bug fixes I believe.
    iPhone 3G 16GB Black 3.1.3

    Pwnage 1.1 can unlock beta 54245 but only on 1st generation phones

    Default My thoughts

    Unlocking iPhone 3G (5A347) just by pwning??? Are there any news? Has anyone tried that either?

    My thoughts about that, when pwning the iPhone with a (non-supportet) sim inserted, may it be possible, that pwnage´s activation process locks the phone to the inserted sim? So no real unlock, but a re-lock to your sim? Would be cool.....

    Can anyone confirm this?

    Best, Eva

    Activation has nothing at all to do with unlocking. Activation only allows the phone to boot to the springboard instead of the "connect to itunes". The baseband isn't going to allow a foreign sim unless it is unlocked officially.

    If T-Mobile is the iPhone carier in Germany and it was locked to T-Mobile, Would a UK T-mobile sim work in it (in the UK)?

    No. It won't.

    And the thread starter is mistaken - unless he paid extra to have his phone unlocked in germany it is still locked.

    The only UNLOCKED iPhone 3G's are officially from Italy and Hong Kong.

    Personally if I lived in Germany like he does I would simply drive/ get the train to italy (as they are close to each other!) and buy an unlocked iphone 3G pay as you go!

    iPhone US 8GB
    FW 1.0.2--> iUnlock--> iPhoneSIMfree--> 1.1.1 --> 1.1.2--> Soft upgrade 1.1.3 --> 1.1.4 using signal.app
    iPhone UK 16GB
    FW 1.1.3 OOB --> 1.1.4 --> iPlus 1.2 unlocked!

    <----If I helped you out, rep points are always nice (thanks for that idea!)
