    Default iPhone $199???

AT&T has announced the pricing and plans for the upcoming Apple 3G iPhone, according to Engadget.

iPhone 3G will be available for $199 (8GB) and $299 (16GB) for iPhone customers who purchased an iPhone prior to 7/11, customers activating a new line with AT&T and current AT&T customers who are eligible for an upgrade

Existing AT&T customers who are not currently eligible for an upgrade discount can purchase iPhone 3G for $399 for the 8GB model or $499 for the 16GB model. Both options require a new two-year service agreement.

A no-commitment version of the iPhone will be available for $599 and $699; however, this version may not be available on July 11th launch.

So what about the good amount of people with iPhones on T-Mobile? How much would it cost for us? Are we qualified as the people "who purchased an iPhone prior to 7/11"

How much would it cost to get a no contract iphone 3g? If there is such a thing, is it unlocked for other carriers? Sorry to all if this post has been posted somewhere else.

Lets see i made a spreadsheet comparing what i pay now.. and what i would pay with a 3G iphone... i'm on a family talk plan and over the 2 year contract i'd pay them $1680.00 + TAXES more than i would if i kept my 2G iphone... I don't think i will upgrade now considering I'd be paying all that just to have GPS since 3G isn't in my area!

What was ATT thinking... 69.99 MORE a month for 700 mins LESS than i'm getting now!

Looks like I'll be switch carriers!! don't like greedy companies!
