    Default [iPhone 3G] AT&T U.S. Retail Price

Check your tax on the receipt, you will find out the retail price.
They charge you the tax for the retail price, not $199, or $299.
It came out that it is $399 for 8GB and $499 for 16GB.

So AT&T claimed selling no commitment at $599 and $699 are overprice.

That's actually the first time I've heard of this. I hope Apple actually releases the phone at those prices because that's a $200 difference...

if you're a ATT customer and not qualify for an upgrade, Apple will charge you this price $399 for 8GB and $499 for 16GB and your contract still gonna renew which is suck. so if you're lost your phone you gonna have to start all over again with your contract and pay a high price phone.

the $599.00 and $699.00 price is not official yet.

believe it or not ,the $399.00 and $499.00 price is NOT THE RETAIL PRICE ,it's still a subsidized price for non-eligible upgrade price

they will release a non contract version of it. Trust me! it just like the first gen iphone. . Apple will try to make more profit while At&t was have enough people to sign up with them. So, just wait and see! but the point we discuss here is the iphone 3g Retail price. So, up to this point both att and apple don't have a retail price for iphone 3g...
