Default Edge and the terrible speed on the iphone 2010

Although this thread is old, I am anxious to find out if something can be done regarding the terrible edge speeds on the iphone, here in Chicago.

I've seen the google settings trick and that didn't work for me. I've talked to T-Mobile and asked if they know of anything that can be done before I make the move from T-Mobile to ATT.

Can someone tell me if I can get better than the 90-140k on my jailbroken, unlocked, 3G running 3.1.3 FW?

I doubt you can get better speeds, but from what is going on in the rumour mills, you may see an official T-Mobile iPhone in the fall. Check out this Cult of Mac post. It is just a rumor, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
