[iPhone 3G][At&T] Canceling within the first 30 days?
Hi all,
Apologies, I know this has already been covered...but I wanted to know what current experiences folks were having with AT&T when canceling within the first 30 days of their iPhone 3G contracts.
I was previously using the old iPhone unlocked on T-Mobile and I was always very happy with it...but I bought the iPhone 3G from an Apple store on July 11th and decided it was worth switching to AT&T in order to get 3G etc.
I am now regretting this decision because I have found that the AT&T network coverage is FAR worse than T-Mobile when I am inside my apartment or at work (with T-Mobile I always got 3 or 4 bars, with AT&T I get 1 bar if I am lucky).
I have read the AT&T website and it says that if I cancel my contract within 30 days I will not have to pay any early termination fee....but is AT&T forcing us to pay full retail price for the iphone in order to cancel? If so, what would they charge me for the 16GB model? Has anyone been through this process in the last week? Is it best to wait beyond the 30 days and then just pay the $175 ETF ?
Thanks all,
Dave.

Wait for the 30 days, you get to keep the phone then.

ATT and Apple
I read somewhere that it depends on where you bought the phone. If you buy it from apple, the device is yours, but from AT&T you gotta return even after the 30day... Is this true or not?

I appreciate the responses but I really want this thread to be about fact rather than rumor. There are way too many rumors floating around about what happens if you cancel within the 30 days (or after) and I'd really like to hear from folks who have actually done the cancellation themselves so that we know for sure what to expect.
I have also contacted AT&T to ask and I am waiting for a response from them...
