Hi there,
A friend of mine has sent me her old iphone 3G which is stuck in recovery mode and won't recover. At the very end of the process I get an undefined error message in iTunes (1002 i think it was?).

I'm totally new to this iDevice world, so don't really know what to do. I'm not sure what OS version is/was on the phone.
I'm using a PC (Win Vista) with iTunes 10.6.1.7

Does it mean anything to anyone? is there some sort of jailbreak tool i can use to recover the phone instead of stock iOS?
I know the phone hasn't been jailbroken before, and initially jailbreaking it isn't the primary concern - but I can't use it at all in this state.

Any advice greatly appreciated!
