im using a family plan on tmobile with 4 phones. what im thinking is (yes i made like 50 posts about this) is that i preorder or buy after release the new iphone from EBAY and unlock it. not a big problem since through ebay they dont force you to sign any contract.
the only minus is that i wont be able to use the 3g network or edge (i live in new york though, lol, what if the iphone will be able to use tmobile's 3g?), but so what? it has an amazing wifi. currently i have an sda and its wifi sucks.
Can someone tell me if my idea is good? because i think its a good solution..for me at least.

How can yo u preorder on ebay?

look up iphone 3g. there are a bunch of pre orders available. be careful, though, there could be a few scams.

well i see the ones that i saw yesterday were already bought...but still soon there will be new ones, AND you can do the same thing AFTER the release. Before or after, either way they cant force you to buy a contract.

Ohh. hmm, i woudn't risk it. As i live in UK, i will walk into an O2 store and buy it as a pay as you go, and if O2 will let me use any other O2 contract sim, i will sign upto one of the cashback deals from carphonewarehouse. This means that i will get lots of minutes and text from as little as £0.99/month.

im just thinking. if youre not on ATT the only difference for you from the original iphone between the 3g one is the GPS. Why dont we or someone makes a GPS system for the original iPhone, and we just stick with the first gen one? Unless, of course we find a way to obtain the new one without a contract. when thats done, hacking it isnt gonna be hard. I really want the iphone, and the first one costs too god damn much, but this one isnt that easy to get..

neither would i, the timeframe for complaint may runout before you et it

people are really desperate to get these new things, whats a couple of days i always think

we just need to know for sure if you can or not obtain it without a contract. so far you apparantly cant...unlocking it would be hard, you guys are pros but im still trying to find a solution on how to get it. ebay isnt a great idea - especially for pre ordering. those are all scams, although after the release its possible that they will be sold wihtout a contract! Thats my idea as well.
the only thing we can do now is wait for the release and see if its sold with or without the contract. then think on what were gonna do.
