Default [iPhone 3G] Old unactivated sim in new phone

Would it be possible to use an old unactivated sim card in the new 3G iPhones. I just barely got one and want to sell it on ebay but I don't want to send my activated sim card that i just got with it. I have 2 old sim cards from the first generation iPhones and have no need for them since I used the phones with T-Mobile. Let me know... Thanks

you really need to explain more clearly.
so you have a 3G iPHone on contract? why don;t you just put in the old sims and see if they work?

K let me explain it a little more clearly....

Back when the 1st gen iPhones came out I bought two of them. When you buy them they come with at&t sim cards already in them. I had no need for these since I was going to use the phones on tmobile so I set the at&t sim cards aside cause I knew they would come in handy later in time. I now have an legit activated 3g iPhone with at&t. I want to sell my iphone 3g though but I dont want to give the activated sim card to the person that buys the 3g iphone. Could I just stick an old sim card from a previous 1st gen iphone in it and give that to them. It should be the same shouldnt it?

Ah right, so I assuem the old AT&T sims aren;t active then?

what i think is to restore your 3G iphone so it needs to be reactivated, when try activate it with one of the olds sims.

It may work since the activation proccess has now changed.
the 3g iphone here in the UK will activate with any O2 sim, since now to buy the phoen you have to sign the contract so they have you tied down on a contract already.

if it doesn't work then at least u still have your legit AT&T sim to activate it with.
