Iphone 3G No IMEI No ICCID No Baseband or Wifi, is this repairable?
This iphone 3G is not simple to fix so please do suggest trying DFU mode with the latest itunes version because it simply will not work. There do seem some solutions for this fault for the iPhone 2G but most of the software relates to firmware version 1.0.2 that wont install on a 3G so they dont work.
What I know and what I have tried:-
Latest Itunes and a DFU restore results in error 23. Various other combinations give different error codes but the best combination is the one below.
Itunes version 8.01 with firmware version 2.1 will restore but gives an 1002 error upon completion. Then using Quickpwn the phone will jailbreak and turn on. However there is no IMEI,Wifi,ICCID or Modem Version...they are all blank.
The most likely cause of this is that the Baseband will not install during the restore procedure. I have tried to run baseband downgraders but they all fail because there is not a baseband installed to downgrade.
ZiPhone:- Does not work, just crashes.
Phasebandowngrader cannot run as I need to install a MobileTerminal program on the iPhone which cannot be done as it does not have a WiFi connection.
I did manage to copy a Terminal program across to the phone with iBrickr and put the file into the /applications folder but when I start the program it shuts down straight away....maybe because the phone does not have a networking ability because of the missing baseband firmware.
I cannot load anything on the phone to check bootloader versions etc, so I'm just guessing. If I can get any version of Baseband loaded then this may help me restore the phone.
Any ideas or is this phone dead, I will try any suggestions but feel I have exhausted all options and maybe the hardware is just faulty.
Any help appreciated.
Your iPhone with Error 23 cannot be fixed with software. The best you can do is use this thread http://www.hackint0sh.org/f203/104422.htm#post483423 to load a non jailbroken OS on the iPhone and take it in to Apple for repair/replacement. If it is out of warranty, I would still try as Apple might still replace it, this is a real problem that you cannot fix and likely did not cause.
