iphone 3g my comptuer wont pick it up (help)
hello everyone,
my iphone 3g wont pick up on the comptuer not even in device manger or itunes but still charges on the wall charger? i have tryed 3 laptops, 2 iphone cables, tryed putting it in restore mode and dfu, and stop/start apple device thing, and nothng works, have i got to replace the dock? or is there another probelm? my 3gs works fine and connect to itunes fine but the 3g does not, many thanks and hope someone can help

Most likely you need to replace the dock connector daughterboard - I've seen reports that there is an ESD device on this daughterboard that can be triggered and produce these kind of symptoms.

fix it by cleanning connecter 4 and cleaning the pins on the dock one by one with cleaning fulid a cotton bud, and a needle works a treat, take a little while but saves £6 keep this in mind next time someone asks,
