Team waiting to release
I mean no offense nor is it my intention to insult or seem ingratuit0us towards the obviously dedicated and hardworking folks who continue to supply a service such as jailbreaking and unlocking iphones for anyone who wishes. In fact I sincerely say thank you for what you have been doing.
But at some point in time they should start to take into consideration the strategy they're employing as to sitting on found exploits for such and such an OS until such a time as a newer OS is released. Basically it boils down to them waiting for the OS to become obsolete before deciding to grant upon the masses the knowledge to do what, by their own their admission, they have been using successfully for themselves for a few months know.
Factoring into account that, in the here and now, what they know, and have been unabatedly proclaiming will selflessly share with the 100,000 members on this website 'as soon as it is discovered' is for an OS which is currently in use by easily 95% or more of the people that have been patiently waiting and asking for it.
It no big secret that when it comes to electronics and gadgets such as computers and phones that by the time the manufacturer of the product releases it it is already obsolete.
So when the Dev team says they have something working and are successfully using it themselves but aren't going to share that knowledge despite claiming to make it available right away till it is for all intensive purposes obsolete, then tack on repeating such claims for an extended period of time...
Well, when your sitting on the side of the majority of the masses that the Dev Team has gathered up and gave their word would selflessly bestow their secret knowledge upon only to suddenly inform those people that they have, have had, and will not be sharing that secret knowledge until it is obsolete knowledge...
You know, arrogance, for one starts to come to mind. I'm sorry, but, come on! WTF

Those who are stuck with an iPhone that can't be unlocked right now only have themselves to blame. The warnings have been clear for years now.. don't upgrade until you know it is safe (especially if you rely on unofficial unlock). Also the release pattern of iPhones has been predictable. June each year. So.. iPhone buyers who want an unofficial unlock... buy soon after June then upgrade safely. Don't buy an iPhone in April and expect an unlock.
Also just because they have an exploit does not mean that they have a working unlock and are using it. I am 99% sure that those with the skills to make jailbreaks and unlocks are using either ultrasn0w or blacksn0w as their day to day unlock. Any unlock under development will still be unstable until the 4.0 beta process is over and the baseband and OS are stable.
This discussion will go nowhere. There is no unlock for this baseband. WWDC is less than 24 hours away so 4.0 will go stable very soon. Ranting will not produce an unlock faster. Thread closed.
