Default [iphone 3G][Advice] cost contract ftw....

Hey all,i'm lithuanian i know that in my country is not supported iphone 3g (i have iphone jailbroken, unlocked, activated with ziphone)

I have sister in California so she can buy me iphone 3g

If she will buy from apple store, would she need to write contract with AT&T for and pay avery month to get iphone 16gb for 299$ ?

no, she could sign the contract and pay the first month of service, and after 30 days she can cancel the contract and pay the ETF of $175 and keep the phone. Which then you can unlock if possible and use in lithuania. The total cost of this method is approx. $600.

yup it'll be sim locked and if it gets restored it'll have to be hacktivated. So after the contract is cancelled it'll pretty much be like the original iphone when u bought it at apple. Right now im not sure if the 3g will be unlocked soon because geohot said right now no exploits that he knows of have been found, but 2.0 has been jailbroken on both the original and 3g, so i guess you should sit back and wait for a bit till a 3g unlock is released. But again, yes after the contract is cancelled, the 3g is sim locked.
