I need to clear all my data
I recently bought a 3Gs iphone and jailbroke and unlocked it today with the new ultrasn0w unlock. I also did the same with my old 3G iPhone but I want to give it to someone. My problem is that I want to erase all the stuff I have on the 3G iPhone before I give it to them... Any suggestions? I do NOT want to lose the jailbreak and unlock...
Thanks! --Keith

It's not really possible via any automated method aside from the reset. Short of doing an erase all content and settings (which also erases the OS), there is no way to clean the device entirely. You can do a restore of the OS, but that will still keep telltale files and other misc. data on the user partition (while unjailbreaking and re-locking you).
At this point, the 3G has been pretty solidly hacked -- all current OS's are able to be jailbroken, all current basebands can be unlocked -- there's little worry in upgrading to 4.0 and using the new ultrasn0w and redsn0w for unlock and jailbreak.
