    Default How I do not Update the baseband

    Hello everyone, a friend of mine have an iPhone 3G, we want to update to 2.2 FW, but we don't want to update the baseband, to use the x-sim card, how we do that? thanks.

    Depending on your platform (Mac or PC), you can use the correct Pwnage tool to create a custom firmware without the baseband update. Read the stickies in the other 3G forums, there's alot of information out there.

    Download one of the custom firmwares. There are no baseband updates included.
    iPhone: 16GB White
    Shop: Italy - Portogruado
    Jailbreak: QuickPwn
    Network: German O2 (Unlocked)
    Firmware: 2.2

    Is Pwnage available for windows yet? and if not does Quickpwn still update the baseband? I'd like to update my phone to 2.2, but am not willing to risk anything with the unlock just over a week away.

    Pwnage = MAC and WinPwn = Windows. There is no WinPwn for 2.2 yet.

    QuickPwn just jailbreak & activate, so if you update via iTunes, your baseband will be upgraded

    i havent even jailbroken my 3G yet. i'll wait for some direction from dev team. No way i wanna lose the unlock by updating my bb to 02.28.0
