Default How to check the Baseband version on a IPSW

    Hello,

I am an unlucky Windows user, and I do not have a friend with a Mac. So I need to upgrade my iPhone to 2.2.1 with a custom IPSW downloaded from torrents. Is it possible to check the Baseband version of the downloaded IPSW without installing it?

Do you know any trusted torrent to download it?

    Many thanks in advanced.

The Dev Team disabled the option to upgrade the baseband in PwnageTool 2.2.5. So the custom firmware files should be ok, BUT: If someone wants to, he can alter that (with the help of XPwn), saying: you cant be 100% sure but it is very unliekly.

One more: No direkt links to copyrighted software here, it the rule. Use E-Mail and PM to communicate please.

Many thanks, I am going to wait until next firmware release. 2.2.1 does not have new features.

I agree on that. Even though I upgraded my 3G factory unlocked, there is not much of a difference.

    happy hacking,

back to topic, i think this will work:
extract the "custom" IPSW using any zip-archive manager (you may need to rename it .zip)
install the trial version of Macdrive and open up the upgrade/restore ramdisk
search for the extensions .fls or .eep and that will give you a better idea of what version the baseband will be

*if you cant find them that means its been disabled for update*

    its here in \usr\local\standalone\firmware

i have a question tho... why does a 3g IPSW have the baseband for a 2g in example from the 2.2 "official"
    ICE2_02.11.07.eep is the 3G
    ICE04.05.04_G.eep is the 2G

Get the latest info for NoAccSplash Here
Currently it should work on iOS 4.x - 6.x
If you'd like to help extend its functionality, the source is also available.
