i have been reading team dev for some time now and have jail broken my daughters itouch gen 1 and 2 so i can jail break or so i thought i have just moved to oz and bought my wife a iphone 3 g on virgin soft ware 3.0 (7a341) modem 04.26.08
i have read about redsnow and ultra so i have downloaded them from the link on team dev i have downloaded ipsw 3.0 for the iphone but it come as a zip file if i unzip it redsnow doesnt see it and if i dont unzip it redsnow doesnt see it so i need to no how to do the frim ware bit as its getting to me now as spent all day and got nowhere lol i have also renamed the down load ipsw but still nothing
can you please help the mad pom

It probably reads iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw.zip right?

If so, just delete .zip so it reads iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw. Do not try to unzip it. Sometimes happens mostly on Macs using safari.

hi guys thanxs for the help but it didnt work first i redownloaded the software but that came down what looked like a zip file so didnt do any thing to it just tryied to open it in redsnow but no good ok then i renamed the original file from zip to ipsw but still red snow carnt see it so the i un zipped the folder the one that i downloaded today with win rar and then red snow saw it but carnt find the ipsw file but can find flash and that ???????????????
ok is it the operating software im using vista 32 bit ????????????
should i try xp or windows 98 dont no any help would be great
