My Iphone is 3g and was on 2.2 (locked), and I want to jailbreak it first, before that I am doing restore first, then after restore, it is restarted, and the iphone asking for correct sim to activate it. Then I am inserting my Indonesian SIM (Telkomsel) for activating it, but seems it doesn't work, it is still ask for the correct SIM.

What should I do ? Should I continue to Jailbreak it ? I am planning using Quickpwn.

Yes, quickpwn/activate then get yellowsn0w from cydia and unlock it

If you want to use other carrier than the official one, look for an app here named quicksnow, it will activate and unlock your iPhone in 2 simple steps.
