So i'm new to jailbreaking the 3g, but i am very accustomed to jailbreaking the old 2g, i jailbroke my old one many times, my sisters too, and unlocked and jailbroke a co-workers phone before the unlock was super easy (i.e. when u needed to move files to the phone via openSSH and then activate them in the terminal app, easy sure, but not "slide to unlock" easy)

anyway... I'm a legit att subscriber and i just want to jailbreak my phone for the freedom to use both appstore apps and cydia apps.

I'm currently using a 16gb 3g iphone with
firmware: 2.2.1 (5H11)
modem firmware: 02.30.03

I am a windows XP sp3 user.. what is my best option for Jailbreaking and does anyone have any advice or suggestions for new hot apps?

Is there a good ringtoner out for the newer phones?

Any good versions solid of customize? i like customizing my interface so reg iphone users mess themselves when they see it

Completely Jailbroken and Customized.. and all i can say is WOW. The third party apps are more stable then ever. Little to no interface lag and some allot of these apps are better then any other apps i've used.. Being able to change the weather icon to represent the ACTUAL weather and the clock icon to have the ACTUAL time, i never thought that possible! what the hell is apple doing to not have this anyway?! Catagories, VLC, Phonezap.. so many great options out there and now the ability to back up the apps (or app list anyway).. plus i can access my phone via SSH again! Anyone thinking about trying this who has half a brain should do it!

Hi, I followed the iclarify - it was very simple and great. Now when my IPhone starts it has 'cydia' and 'install'; but Cydia says Network Error, Unable to Load (no Internet connection).

'Install' doesn't seem to work either. Also I notice when I look at settings->General->About the carrier shows Null Null.

What does this mean?

Here's all the stuff from the general->about:

Network: Not Available
Cairrier (null) (null)
Modem Firmware 02.30.03
Locked to O2 (UK)
On Contract

And assume it is 3G because it has Enable 3G (enabled / disable)

Also the Wi-Fi seems to connect and disconnect...
