ive done a cursory read and there seem to be a number of solutions.
any recomendations or alternatively reasons why i should not go for any specific solutions?

I do use PDAnet for a long time now, works great but there is a licence fee if you want all services free after the trial period (2 weeks as far as I remember). If you dont pay it will only forward port 80 http.
On the other hand, OS 3 will allow tethering in summer ;-)
