    Default Error 28

Have searched the forum, stickies and google for an answer so apologies in advance if this has been answered before!
Have a faulty Iphone 3g 8gb. When attempting restore, I tunes is throwing up error 28 and putting it into recovery loop. Am unable to say which os it was running neither have I any baseband info.
I tunes recognises phone without a problem, have tried new usb lead, port, computer, clean itune upload....etc.,
Have posted logs, link below, would apreciate if someone could have a look at them to see if they throw up any clues.

    Windows XP
    OS...No Info
    BB....No Info

    http://pastebin.com/9X4h2Hix

    Many thanks and regards

Your log file is useless - it's the wrong type of log.

Read http://www.hackint0sh.org/f137/130802.htm and post the correct restore log - might be able to get somewhere then.

Don't hold a lot of hope that this can be fixed by software:

Error 28: Hardware error. Return your device to Apple if possible. The problem is a bad dock connector on the iPhone. Must change the connector.

The log file you posted now shows an attempted restore to 4.2.1 failing with error 21

    Error 21

Custom firmware restore fail (PwnageTool since 4.1). You have to put your device into the DFU mode and not into recovery mode. Device won't boot correctly an stuck at the Apple logo after the error. Press and hold power and home button until it reboots.

No it didn't. Can you post a log where you are trying to restore to 3.1.2?
