i havent had this happen yet. did you try restoring without a backup while in dfu mode. this will erase everything, but makes a fresh start.

    HELP!!!!!
Take it easy. Error 23 is a baseband/radio error. It occurs when an unlock / baseband flash fails.

The way to fix this is to get it out of DFU mode, which it's stuck in because iTunes can't read its IMEI number due to the baseband problem.

Try the solutions detailed on the thread linked on post number 2

    Good luck

I am also getting this same error and I am 100% sure i am in DFU mode because XP tells me that a DFU device is plugged in. I try to restore and it gives me error 23 on a white screen. Any suggestions?

    Question Error 23

I have a 3G iPhone that I am trying to restore, but I keep getting this message: The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (23).

How do I fix this? Thank you.

Have you tried putting your phone in DFU mode before attempting a restore?
He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.
