Without the full log I can't say for sure, but my initial impression is that your baseband is screwed. This can't be fixed via software.

if the device is under warranty - get it replaced.

    thank you Olethros,

I've uploaded the full log file here: iPhoneUpdater 41.log - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download

(had to use a differet site for posting file, as suggested one has a limitation on file size).

Can you please confirm that my base band is screwed? if so, the handset is out of warranty, what are my option at this state.

    Very much appreciated/

    Doesn't look good..

I understand these logs are very long (due to the baseband update repeatedly failing)

Basically, the part of NOR where the baseband is stored is failing - it reports that the baseband is written but when it tries to verify that the data was written correctly, the verify fails.

Checking validation result... - Warning: Validation result code indicates failure, result code = 0x0
Finally, the write itself actually fails:
    Exception at :0:
    - BBUReturnIOError(6)/2: CRC Mismatch, expected CRC 0xB9CD, but received 0x00000000 from radio
    Solutions:

Apple offers an out of warranty repair/replacement program
    Sell it for spare parts
Try and replace the NOR chip (not even sure if this is possible due to device specific information written into the NOR)
