Unhappy Erase back up file by mystake, any way to recover it?

I was erasing a bunch of iPhone backups and trying to get the job done quickly I erased my own. Then I restored my iPhone, unlocked, but no contacts anywhere. I went to the trash to check if there is where itunes send the deleted files... nothing. Is there any way to recover that backup file?

If you've deleted it and it's gone from the Apple location for mobile backups and isn't in the recycle bin, the only real choice would be data recovery on the computer's hard drive to recover it -- but that is expensive, usually useless for binary encoded data, and would be a lot of hassle.

I recommend if you do find a way to pull this information that the first thing you do is configure iTunes to properly synchronize this information with your other databases (Windows Contacts or Outlook) to ensure that you have a working backup. I prefer Windows Contacts because most programs allow importing from this format as well, so I can keep my phone list in just one format...

Do you have any other computers that you have synchronized with that may have a backup from an older time? That way at least you wouldn't lose everything.

This is another reason to be very careful with your backups and why you should always create a new one in any case where you're about to need one.

I couldnt find the location in finder where the back ups are. But I found a bunch of residues from different iPhones Ive plugged into the computer. Like, contacts I have no clue who they are, images, web addresses, dude a lots of trash man ! that sucks, I didnt think this mac would do that!
Anyways, fact is I couldnt find the folder where the back up files are. I thought I had a good chance of them being stored somewhere as when I deleted them on iTunes they didnt go to the trash.
I did recover some contacts I had in my sim card from years back when I had blackberry. Freaking iPhone doesnt let us save them to the sim, I cant believe Apple hasnt think about it yet.
All I cared about where my contacts dude, I have the apps, music and vids in iTunes.

Again, thanks a million for the support!

There is an app in Cydia store that allows you to save contact to SIM (or may be retrieve from SIM). I can be wrong but it's worth to google and search.
