I bought the iPhone on July 11th. I noticed a dead pixel when I got back home the same day. It was on the top right corner near the battery sign.
It is really tiny but I know what a dead pixel is and no its not dust or anything else.
I didn't want to go back to the store cuz I wanted to play with it. 3 weeks later (close to the 30 days policy) I decided I wanted a replacement even if that dead pixel was even hard to notice. The thing is that I got micro scratches on the chrome bezel and on the back and that annoyed me.
My invisibleShield took ages to arrive...
(Micro-scratches on the back can only be noticed when reflected by a strong source of light. You can have them even by rubbing dust with a tissue against the material)
Anyways I went to the store and they told me I had to to call Rogers customer service. So I called them the same day. After several minutes someone answered(always long). The guy told me I had to try a "restore" but I was kind of busy so I told him I would do that later.
So the next day I call back and the guy tells me I have to go back to the store and have a rep confirm that I have a dead pixel so they can add a note to my account saying I do have a dead pixel.
So the day after that I went (again) to the store and explained everything to the same rep I talked to the first day. He told me he was gonna leave a note but I insisted and told him to call right now while I was here. So he did, he was cool.
After he finished talked to the "tech support" he told me to call them back and complete the file and I'll finally get a replacement.
So im back home and call. Now the tech tells me I have to try several steps before we can complete the request. She asks me to "reset" the phone lol(its freakin hardware problem but I guess they dont know basics of electronics).
So I "reset" the phone while I'm talking to her with my iPhone rofl! I'm like "yeah and next...?" Anyways at the end she asks me to restore so I tell her I do that and call back. But she was cool and all.
So in the evening a call back for the last time few. And after 20 mins of wait a tech answers and he asks me a couple of questions and finally he tells me my replacement is coming within the next 5 business days and I have to keep the sim card and the accesories because the iPhone I will be getting will come with nothing else.
Yes that was a pain in the ass but I'm getting a new iPhone 1 month after I got mine hehe. My only worry is that I hope I wont be getting a Refurb iPhone.
