I'm having the similar problem but with 3G iPhone accidently upgraded to 3.1.3(7E18) with iTunes and now cannot be use with Tmobile simcard which used to work earlier. all jailbroken applicaions are missing and I dont know what to do anymore I backup in iTunes b4 I did that,and tried to restore backup after all jailbroken applications were missing. But when I realized that I didnt get them back, I tried to reset all setting from iPhone and now sim card even can't be used anymore Do I have to unlock again? and I'm not sure which type of jailbroken system it was using (I saw Cynthia and Installer when it was working fine) coz it's my firend's phone and I m trying hard all night to get it back b4 she wake up somebody pls help

You probably can't unlock now that you accidentally upgraded to 3.1.3

Jailbreak with redsn0w iClarified - iPhone - How to Jailbreak Your iPhone 3G on OS 3.1.2, 3.1.3 Using RedSn0w (Windows)

Try fuzzyband (from Cydia) if that does not work - you are stuck without an unlock.

Your jailbroken apps need to be reinstalled, upgrading via iTunes is NOT supported with Cydia/jailbroken apps.

All this has been asked and answered before.

Well... after reading this... I have a 3.0.1 with a 04.26.08 firmware, I badly need to upgrade, but should I? Am I risking to loose my jailbreak and unlock forever? This is a scary situation but I am tempted to try. It's a 3G. Thanks guys, "i'd really love to learn how"

Pwnagetool - see iClarified - iPhone - How to Jailbreak Your iPhone 3G on OS 3.1.3 Using PwnageTool (Mac)

If you are on windows - try and find a mac to make the custom IPSW and then transfer the custom IPSW to your windows machine and restore this on your jailbroken iPhone.

This will retain the ability to use the same ultrasn0w unlock that you are using on OS 3.0.1

Followed your link... it's syncing now but I see already the signal bars are none... the sim doesn't get any signal. Do I have to install any app? It is syncing the previous back up that I did before to run Pwnage 3.1.5, still waiting...
It's on 3.1.3, I saw it from the itunes.

Olethros, I am now stuck, my iphone works wifi and all apps are upgraded but can't find any signal for my sim, t-mobile. I followed step by step and I am sure I didn't messed up. Firmware is (i guess) still the same (it ends with 08). Can you help?

Problem solved. I thought to share this in case somebody has the same issue.

Now we have 2 options for unlocking, and it all depends on your baseband model:

If your baseband is still at 04.26.08, then you may use UltraSn0w.
If your baseband is at 05.11.07, you may use BlackSn0w.
If your baseband is at 05.12.01, you cannot unlock at this time. No one knows if we’ll ever be able to unlock this baseband.
To find out what your baseband is, go to Settings > General > About > Modem Firmware.

How to unlock iPhone 3.1.3 with UltraSn0w

Launch Cydia.
Add the following source to Cydia repo666.ultrasn0w.com (note there is a “0″ in sn0w, not an “o”).
After installing this source in Cydia, search for “ultraSn0w”.
Install UltraSn0w and reboot your iPhone.
How to unlock iPhone 3.1.3 with BlackSn0w

Launch Cydia.
Add the following source: blackweather.
After installing this source in Cydia, search for “BlackSn0w”.
Install BlackSn0w and reboot your iPhone.

It work fine
