I bought an Iphone 3G(from O2, UK) - 2.2.1(5H11) with modem firmware 02.30.03?

This is the version, straight out of the box and NOT an update from 2.2.0 or something. So, can you please tell me if there is a jailbreak and unlock out available for this version.

Check the turbo sim section, there are solutions to unlock 2.2.1 firmware with 2.30.03 BB.... Some are more reliable than others!

I bought rebel sim from Ebay. Unreliable. I use it with 2 different carriers, t-mobile USA and MTC Lebanon and both instances the sim card would just stop working all of a sudden! It's frustrating because then I would have to remove it put it back in. And sometimes even after that it still would not work, it would say NO SERVICE. I am trying to find a local phone shop to unlock it for me.

Hello, I saw today my eyes iphone.Which was "updated" by local masters. They take Iphone from UK with 2.2.1 FW and 02.30.03 baseband, solder the baseband (I think so) chip, erased it and wrote 02.28.00 version. They used programmer, which they bought in UK. Anyone know anything about this? Where to find this programmer? Also, they added their icon on the bootscreen.

yes, i have the same phone, you are able to Jail break it, not sure about sim unlock:
