Blocked by carrier/network - what can I do?
Hi there, I just bought an iPhone 3G and days later it's been blocked by the network. Is there any way I can get around this? I.E. does jailbreaking work or any other way you know of?
Many thanks, Nicho.

You had tried to threadjack a completely un-related thread, so I moved your post to it's own thread.
No jailbreaking won't fix your problem. Either you have bought a stolen/fraudulent phone that has been IMEI blacklisted or (if it's not second hand) there may be a problem with your account configuration by your carrier.
Either way you need to check with your carrier to confirm what the problem is. As you are in the UK, if the device is IMEI blacklisted, it is very hard to get it removed from the blacklist (the only person who can do that is the person who requested the device be blacklisted in the first place).
It's your responsibility when buying a phone second hand to insist that the seller provides a certificate showing that they have performed a IMEI check and that the phone is not blacklisted. I wouldn't buy a second hand phone in the UK without such a document.
