Hello!

I had my iPhone jailbroken and unlocked on 3.1.2 (with blackra1n), everything was fine. Then I upgraded to iOS 4.0 and jailbroke it (forgot what tool i used). However, it was so terribly slow, that i downgraded it to 3.1.3

so now i'm on
firmware: 3.1.3 (7E18)
baseband: 05.13.04

however, i don't get it jailbroken anymore!

blackra1n RC3:
stucks at "running..." while iPhone is in recovery mode. I have to use RecBoot to kick it out of recovery mode, but it won't be jailbroken.

RedSn0w 0.9.2:
I brows to the 3.1.2 ipsw file as explained in the guides and chose the option "Install Cydia" only. The tool will jailbreak and say it's done, "the rest of this process will take place on your device". However - i won't see the pineapple and the phone just boots into normal, non jailbroken state (no Cydia)

Spirit:
I didn't backup SHSH files, so (as i understand it) i can't use spirit jailbreak for 3.1.3 anymore

SnowBreeze 1.5:
I point it to my 3.1.3 ipsw and say it shall "activate" it. then it creates the custom ipsw file. then i put the phone to DFU mode and start iTunes (9.2.0.61) and use shift+recover and select my "sn0wbreeze_iPhone 3G.ipsw". it will start the process but stucks on "preparing iPhone for recovery" and finally fails with unknown error 1601


does anyone have an idea why all the jailbreak attempts fail and what i can do to jailbreak my 3.1.3 3G again?

3G does not need SHSH for pre-iOS 4.0
blackra1n does not support 3.1.3
redsn0w should work. Sounds like you are doing this right. What version of redsn0w are you using?
sn0wbreeze is not supported here

My suggestion - downgrade to 3.1.2 and try again.

Or.. 4.0 works fine if you don't enable desktop backgrounds and multitasking and disable all spotlight indexing.

Unfortunately I also can't downgrade to 3.1.2. If I put my iPhone to DFU and then try to restore to 3.1.2 ipsw, the screen of the phone will turn white for a two or three seconds and then the white apple logo appears and the phone boots normaly, while itunes will still be in "Preparing iPhone for restore" but the iPhone will be in normal operation mode. and iTunes will finally giveup with 1601

screw that - my bad - i had recboot running in the background still and it kicked it out of recovery everytime!

could downgrade now to 3.1.2 and will try to jailbreak again
