Bit confused... 2.2.1 stuff
I just want to get some stuff straight in my mind..
I currently have 2.2 jailbroken iphone 3G, i use quickpwn, I dont mind about the baseband i like o2 and dont wonna be on anything else. But if i update my iphone to the 2.2.1 through itunes.. would it totally erase all my springboard themes and all that type of customization? also will i lose all my own stuff which isnt to do with the jailbrake? i.e contacts, photos, music, apps?
Is there a way to keep everything and just upgrade?

Hi
As long as you have an official iphone contract you can upgrade with itunes to 2.2.1.
Unfortunately you are going to lose any applications that you installed with Cydia & you will need to Quickpwn the phone again to be able to reinstall them.
However if you update "Not Restore" your contacts, music, photos, apps will remain installed.

Sorry yes official 02 pay & go Sim are fine as well
AptBackup may well work 4u but to be truthful I've never used it
I always manually reinstall my third party applications.
I'm sure some else here will give you advice on how well this application works

btw.. If you're going to try aptbackup you may find this useful
Aptbackup | iPhone News, Help and Guides
Its based around 2.1 firmware but it should be the same process using 2.2.1

I never met an error, if I jailbreak using QuickPwn.
If you're using PwnageTool, try either the recovery / DFU mode, if one of them fails.

I need some help here,
Im using this to help, Hack that Phone - Using QuickPwn on a 3G iPhone
I do every as it says, but it still gets stuck after DFU mode i get the 2001 error but nothing else then my phones just black screen and quickpwn is left doing nothing only with it says "quickpwn is about to run on your iphone 3G" nothing happens for ages so i have to force quit... iv tried this soo many times and it does it everytime, am i not entering DFU mode right or something.. i follow the direction as it says.
One thing i find strage is my phone tries t sn=ync to itunes right before quickpwn tells me to turn off the divice..so i turn it of half way through the sync but iv also tried waiting till its stoped syncin but it still gets stuck.. gaahhh i want this thing jailbroken already please can someone help?
