I bought an iphone 3g on ebay the other day, and it came with a broken sleep button and a passcode on it. Having never owned an iphone before, i tried to get the passcode until it got stuck in 'connect to itunes' mode.

So now i need to get it into recovery or DFU mode so i can get the passcode off. Only problem is, not only am i lacking a power button, but i cant connect to itunes either with the passcode on it. To further complicate matters, i dont know anyone with a mac, so i have to do everything on windows.

I've already tried downloading that DFU file thing, but cant get it to do anything either. Can anyone help me fix this thing?

You are pretty stuck. Get the hardware button fixed.

Crap.... well do you know how much a good price to get it fixed would be? Or where the cheapest place to have it done at might be? Thanks
