Got the 3g today, the battery life seems to be depleting very quick once i am on the 3g network. is this normal?

i was watching the battery bar while i have pandora on. looks like it goes down a bar in every 3 or 4 songs.

is there something wrong with my iphone?

That seems wrong idd...
But then again, the batteri burns really quick with Ipod, 3g enabled, data roaming enabled and bluetooth enabled..and dont forget wifi..I never let bluetooth/3g/wifi stay on and the batterilife is quite decent for me I must say. Don't forget the the Iphones has some sort of batteri(cant remember name) that gets better after 2-3 fully charges Hope it helped:p

it seem normal because if you turn on the 3G then your battery will brain very fast (at it already say>faster to surf the web but will brain battery). So, if you combine 3G+running app+music player then...your battery can only handle about 2-3 hours It not include the baseband will keep looking for cell signal (it will take some juice from your battery too). So, turn the 3g off when you don't need it and let's see if the battery still brain fast or not (i hope not).

Actually its no use if we have 16 GB iPhone 3G since we can't even enjoy playing videos or music. Might as well get a 8GB model instead.

woah, and we are paying 30 bucks a month for the 3g and I can only use it for 2 to 3 hours aday? and if i am luck i have a charge standby....

! yup! $30 buck just help you using A-GPS while driving (remember to pluging your car charger) and turn on 3G. If you out the street and turn on 3g+listen to music at the same time then you not gonna get 24 hours of music like apple stated ). Also, base on where you live...whenever you turn on 3g connection then The phone will try very hard to find for signal ) => battery won't last longer than 2-3 hours (a lot of ppz complained about this problem).
