[Battery Indicator] Battery indicator stuck at 100%
After over 24 hrs of standby with close to 5 hrs of usage, my phone was still showing full battery. This was a red flag for me. I was browsing the web and all of the sudden, my phone turned off me on (without 20% or 10% warning). Just shut off and displayed the red battery. I plug my phone in, and after about 5 minutes of charging, it turned back on. To my surprise, the battery indicator immediately displayed the plug icon showing that it's fully charged! I take the phone off the charger, and it still shows full charge! There's no way a drained battery can be fully charged within 5 minutes. I think that my battery indicator is stuck. I use the phone for a few minutes and it shuts off on me once again. After plugging it in, it immediately shows a full charge once again. Tried hard resetting and it didn't remedy the situation.
I am running 2.0.1 completely stock on a 16g white iphone.
Does anyone know if this sounds like a hardware issue? (I do get normal usage out of the battery, is the battery indicator purely software or is there a hardware component to it?)

It has been fixed in the past by restoring the phone.
Good luck.

Try hard reset and see the result, Hard reset = Power + Home till the iPhone shut down itself and show apple logo.

I had this same problem, hard reset as said above fixed it. At first I was like HELL YEAH better better life, and after the reset it was lower than half, my hopes were crashed, hahaha.

Well, I've done everything people have recommended.
-Hard rest
-Restore (set up as new phone)
-Restore (from backup)
-Condition the battery (drained and charged 3 times)
Nothing worked. I brought the phone to Apple after playing the iPod overnight (so I racked up 10+ hrs of usage time). They saw the battery was still full, and I told them what I have done over the past week.
My phone was immediately swapped. Hope the new one doesn't have any problems!
