I don't really understand the backup part

If you want to be legit after jail-breaking 3G with pwnage etc wouldn't you just restore on std firmware put the legit sim in and connect to itunes.

Or am I misunderstanding your question?

Sorry I might have not explained the situation very well. :hack:

I bought my iPhone, legitmatelly activated it and now I got rid of contract.

I know that Pwanage Tool has the option to not wipe user data, wich keeps the activation data intact even after pwanage.

The thing is, where is this user data that Pwnage Tool gives the option to not wipe when Pwnaging the iPhone?

    tnx

If you are a legit carrier customer, you do not need to worry anything.
When you restore your iPhone, connect it to your computer via USB, and it shall automatically activate your phone.

Same thing applies when you pwn your device for 3rd party applications. During the setup stage, de-select 'activate iPhone' option from General tab of Pwnage 2.0.
(while in Expert Mode), then everything should be okay.

in your case, I can't say I could give you advice.

but are you sure that 'disable wipe data on iPhone' means to keep your activation data? I thought this was to prevent those 'enterprise' feature that enables you to erase all the data in the iPhone in case you lose the iPhone. (the feature Steve Jobs showcased during demo of push capability)

    Hi,

Oh, I tripped about the partition wipe.

It's really for the purpose you mentioned.

    So to finish the thread:
There is no sensible activation data anywhere in the phone that could be backed up.
