Default Another "NO SOUND THROUGH EARPIECE" Problem

    Hi everyone,
When I want to make a phone call the light does not go off and I can not hear anything through the earpiece - earphones work perfectly ! The thing is, when I unplug the earphones, I hear all the click-sounds and it does not seem that the IPhone "thinks" it is in headset mode! IPhone speakers also work when I listen to music.
I tried to unplug many times, nothing! Still no sound!
Maybe I should open the phone and clean the jack?
    I have IPhone 3G 2.2. with latest yellowsn0w
    Any comment MUCH appreciated! Thanx

    Default same problem...

i have the same problem as you and same phone set as you (IPhone 3G 2.2. with latest yellowsn0w). i have tried all solutions found on internet for this problem that was already affectring previous generation of iPhones:

    1) Plug/Unplug
    2) Clean the jack plug with a Q-tip and cleaning liquid (this I still believe it's a joke, but i tried it by despair)
    3) Switch off; Reset settings; Restore iPhone through iTunes

nothing worked... i leftSwitzerland week ago and am now for two months abroad... i think i have to use the earplugs for this period... until i cannot bring this back to Orange (after restoring to cover jailbreaking) to fix/change the phone... sad...

any miracle solution to this, more than welcome!

    Default Pull the plug

seems to be a common problem and people are fixing by pulling and pushing the earphone jack in and out of phone in fairly rapid movements. Contact inside sticks in the headphone mode needes a bit of jiggling

    Default

    Hi Seo
I fixed mine! The problem was that I opened it weeks ago due to a stuck TurboSIM and did not insert the connector labeled #3 correctly into the slot.

Did you ever open you phone?

If you change volume and you have no earphones inserted does it say "ringer" or "ringer (headphones)" ?

if it says ringer I suppose this may be defective :
