Angry [Advice] iPhone 3G battery life issues

I know this thread will probably be deleted or moved because this has been talked about so often, but I honestly cannot work what is normal battery life these days considering all the mods this phone has. I bought mine yesterday and I charged it fully only to find that by mid morning the next day it needed to be recharged. WTF???? I figured that's about 12 hours of STANDBY time. Imagine if I made calls, GPS, 3G etc.

I know the stock iPhone by itself is crappy at battery life (v2.0.1, 01.48.02) but add to it the fact it's Pawned, Cydia, a Gevey 3G Sim and is 12 hours all I should expect???? Is that about normal for everything that's been done to it. 3G is off, EDGE is off, SSH is off.

All the mods above have at one time or another been reported as sucking valuable battery time in their own right so is it smart to put all of them onto a phone at the same time. I know Im not the only one doing this.

I replaced my old 2G cause I had a bad row so I figured I may as well upgrade. Somehow I think Iv made a big mistake.

What is normal anymore ??? Can anyone shed some light to a pissed off iPhone 3G owner.

First, restore the phone. Then look on it a few days. My 3G had the same "problems" with battery, with Wifi, 3G and push on. The battery life was around 1-2 days. Now, with Push off i hold it on 4-5 days.

If your 3G battery hold only 12 hours after restore and Push off, its a warranty situation. Battery is defect.

My iPhone has push and wifi off, also i reduced the brightness. Now if I just leave it on the battery will last up to 5 days.

i personally found that the battery life did improve after a week or two. give it 5 or 6 charge cycles and you should see some improvement.

Technically I don't think that this argument holds water. However, what is true is that by the time you reach the 5th or 6th cycle, the excitement of your new iPhone has somewhat worn off and you touch/play with it once every 2 or 3 hours as opposed to every 2 or 3 minutes.

Any and ALL sim SOLUTIONS, will DRAIN batter MUCH faster than usual. This has been proven by me and an ATT sim, along with a TMO sim/yessim.

SimSolutions are JUNK.. they drain battery quick.
